Riesling Morstein
QBA | dry
(€39,87 / l)
The Morstein in Westhofen is a very famous and equally very old single site (first documented mention in 1282), which is completely south-facing. Heavy clay marl soils interspersed with limestone layers dominate, and massive limestone rock can be found in the subsoil. The iconic site, which predominantly consists of pure limestone rock and overlying clay marl, gives wines a combination of power and volume combined with elegance. In Morstein, both warm and cooler corners can be found. Our single-site Riesling from Morstein shows cool, crystal-clear precision, minerality, as well as power and substance. In the finish, it is full of character and to the point. Westhofen is located in the western neighborhood of our warmer, earlier Bechtheim sites and ripens later.
Falstaff 2026: "The Rieslings already possess incredibly attractive fruit notes on the nose. That the Morstein, with its depth, comes out on top in terms of quality is not surprising."
