Character. Authentic. No frills.
Characterised by limestone, mineral-focused, with a subtle depth. Our wines originate from sites with history and heritage. They tell the story of the soil – not the cellar.
Bechtheim. Our Foundation.
GEYERSBERG - Medium-heavy, carbonate-rich loess-loam soils, calcareous subsoil, south-facing, wind-protected terraces. Geyersberg is one of our finest sites, and it proves it year after year. The wines possess power without being loud. Fruit that is ripe but never shrill. Warm yellow-fruited notes and a fullness that carries the wine.
ROSENGARTEN - Higher clay content, embedded in sandy loess-loam, south-facing and warm. The Rosengarten produces wines that do not reveal themselves immediately. And that is precisely their strength. Complex yet slender. Voluminous and playful. With increasing maturity, they develop an opulence that one must earn.
HASENSPRUNG - West of the village, on heavy clay soils with sandy inclusions. The Hasensprung is a quiet site, especially for Riesling. Here, a delicate, finely fruity character emerges, with a hint of saltiness. Not a wine that imposes itself. One that lingers.
Morstein Westhofen. An icon.
Iconic Terra Fusca. Characterised by cool clarity and the distinctive signature of limestone, formed from the coral reefs of the Tertiary primordial ocean. A small plot with a big name, producing a wine of unique character – marked by a distinctive, salty minerality.
Zellertal. Our Vision.
Zellertal at the Schwarzer Herrgott in Mölsheim.
The Schwarzer Herrgott is one of Germany’s oldest vineyard sites. A place where history is etched into the limestone cliffs – and comes to life in the glass. Characterised by salty minerality, dark aromas and a vibrant acidity, a wine with depth and intrigue unfolds here. At altitudes of 170 to 250 metres above sea level, a character emerges that is as approachable as it is long-lasting – ready to drink now, yet made for eternity.
Riesling. Quiet luxury. Long finish.
Riesling is the grape variety that best expresses the character of Rheinhessen. Silky, with a mineral freshness, fruity and possessing a depth that tells a story. Our Rieslings are not grown to impress. They are grown to tell a story – of limestone, of the soil, of a place that gives its wines a distinctive identity.
Burgundy. Our Signature.
Our Burgundies do not dazzle. They tell a story. Delicate, silky, with a creamy texture – they rise above mere fruit and demonstrate what development through layers and time truly means.
The Pinot Blanc sits serenely in the glass. A subtle tension. Bright fruit. Cool elegance. Fine-grained tannins, used subtly, lend structure to the minerality. Wines that speak, not shout. Present in every detail. Ready for the big stage – and with the patience for a long journey in the bottle.
Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen.
Origin unites. In early 2017, 70 wineries joined forces to form Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen e. V. Today, there are already around 100 wineries. The shared guiding principle of all members is the voluntary yet consistent application of the three-tier classification model comprising estate, village and single site wines. This serves as a recognised, meaningful and tangible classification of wine quality, designed to sharpen the profile of the Rheinhessen region.
