Early Pinot Noir Geyersberg
QBA | dry
(€38,00 / l)
After a test of patience with some waiting, once again, wonderfully ripe, healthy grapes in the Geyersberg Frühburgunder for this single-site wine in the smallest quantity. Only from very special vintages. Incredibly deep wine: fleshy sour cherries, dark chocolate, rum pot, mocha, and a hint of coffee. The wood is beautifully integrated. Power on the palate combines with elegant tannins, giving this wine great aging potential. Unfiltered. The Geyersberg site was already mentioned in documents around 1500 with the name "ym nesten geierßbuhl". The animals are indeed the namesake here. A long time ago, the mountain was forested, and birds of prey nested there.
Falstaff 2026: "The reds are at the top. Don't be afraid of high alcohol on the label, the Frühburgunder can handle it. And how! Appealing on the nose, blackberry, juniper, and very skillful use of wood. On the palate, there's a lot of cranberry-like fruit, a lot of ripeness, density, a lot of wine overall. The nominally high alcohol is noticeable through the sweet extract but completely without overripeness. Strong in every way"
