Heavy clay marl soils interspersed with limestone layers dominate, and massive limestone rock can be found in the subsoil. The iconic site, which predominantly consists of pure limestone rock and overlying clay marl, gives wines a combination of power and volume combined with elegance. In Morstein, both warm and cooler corners can be found. Our single-site Riesling from Morstein shows cool, crystal-clear precision, minerality, as well as power and substance. In the finish, it is full of character and to the point.
